Battle of the Doughnuts
My food obsession lately has been doughnuts. Brisbane has so much more to offer when it comes to these (not so little) beauties. I have so far adventured into the Valley to Doughnut Time and The Doughnut bar in Wintergarden. Both places are equally cute, Doughnut Time being a little hole in the wall next to a Alfredo's Pizza Place with a very long line up and The Doughnut Bar is a red Komby van! I love the boxes they both come in and the amazing flavours they both have. Doughnuts are eaten best with a cup of English Breakfast tea!
The Doughnut Bar I found after uni one day in Wintergarden and I had been stalking them on Facebook and Instagram for a while and finally made it to the Komby of deliciousness. I ordered the Nutella stuffed cheesecake one which came with its own syringe of Nutella, so cool! I also would love to try the caramel and Pistachio and the Peanut Butter one too, but am going to have to pace myself! I made my way back through the city markets and picked up some fresh fruit to balance out my naughty treat and had a lovely coffee in Shingle Inn (my favourite coffee place). I have to say even though Doughnut Time was great, The Doughnut Bar was even better! The actual dough tasted more like a doughnut compared to the more bread like texture of Doughnut Time.
What can I say, I love Doughnuts! They only thing better than this would have been if my mum (partner in Doughnut crime) was there with me!

From Doughnut Time we bought 2 Tim tams, A Veruca Salt (my favourite), Nutella Stuffed, Peanut butter, Red Velvet and some MnM ones. It was a really cool experience to line up for fresh doughnuts and while we waited for them to arrive we ate pizza and chips and aioli next door for lunch. The chips and aioli were incredible! Piggishly mum, my sister Bridget and I ate 5 doughnuts in one night whilst sipping hot drinks and watching our favourite TV show, Reign. It was a great time!
What can I say, I love Doughnuts! They only thing better than this would have been if my mum (partner in Doughnut crime) was there with me!
