Delicious Homemade Brunch

It is study week and to take a break from reading too much about opera I decided to invite my grandparents over for a backyard tea party while I am home. I have been on Pinterest and Instagram and have got all inspired by photos of outdoor tea parties under lovely trees. I love throwing family gatherings and decorating tables and most of all baking delicious sweets! I made Lemon Drizzle cake after watching Anna from Viviannadoesmakeup bake it and rave about it and oh my that is an amazing recipe! We all loved it and many went back for seconds!

Lemon Drizzle Cake

Dress: Fabled and True

We found some cute red paper decorations to hang from the gum tree and set up our tables in the warm sun this morning. The whole family was involved in cooking for our party. On the menu was buttermilk pancakes and french toast with bacon and maple syrup, strawberries and fried banana. Of course hoping everyone had room left for my lemon drizzle cake, tea and coffee. Dad was on bacon duty, Bridget was on french toast duty, Mum was on table decoration duty, Tara was on fruit duty and Harrison helped us all with taking the food out. I made the cake and the pancakes. I miss throwing these sought of little parties as I live at college and don't get the chance so when I get home Mum knows I will want to do a lot of baking and lots of grocery shopping. Is it weird that I love grocery shopping? Especially if mum is paying! We bought some lovely orangey roses and decided to have a theme of orange and red with the decorations, flowers, grandmas banksia and the orange juice fit in too. It was such a lovely day, now back to studying!
Hope you had a lovely long weekend!

Love Chels xx
